If one thing ever really irritated me, it's my own damn fallibility.
My name's Leonidas. Sometimes I write things on here. If you enjoy things, feel free to read these things! Click here for an introduction. If you have thoughts, please write a comment and make me happy :).

You know those days?
I sat here ruminating through several things I wanted to talk about - I drew a little picture on my hand, too, which I know was related to a blog post idea and a good one, but I've forgotten what it meant - and as I went through the first one, two lines into attempting to plan it I thought "Fuck it, I don't want to plan this, I'll write it." And then before I even got a sentence out I thought "God I'm so lazy." There was a coherence to this train of thought two minutes ago, I think.

Christmas... I'll go with it.
I'm not one of those scrooges who feels the need to annually complain around this point about how fake, commercialised, etc. Christmas is. But it's a consideration, and I don't dismiss it out of hand; I just tend to ignore it and have fun.

The tokenism/racism distinction
I was reading a creative writing guide that advised when writing to stay away from featuring an all-white cast "unless your novel is set in the rural parts of Sweden." I highly disagree. The implication here is that you should balance up your novel with a racially mixed cast, which is one of the best examples of tokenism - treating someone as a "token", as if they're just somebody that you use to satisfy certain criteria.

My thoughts on Exams
I want to talk about a subject that applies particularly to me, a 16 year old living in the UK, because I think this is a subject that undoubtedly requires attention. This is school examinations.

Observational comedy
So I've made an observation lately. And it's that observations seem to be just so damn hilarious.

The confusion over little differences
I have no idea if everyone does this or if I'm alone in my extremely specific dyscalculia, but Zeus knows I still can't grasp the concept of differences.

You know, I'm really not that great at recommendations
Sure, I'll take a few and some I really like, The Hunger Games was a recommendation from me by my librarian. But usually, when people send me links to webcomics, books, TV series, videos etc that they like, I just don't care. If it's something short that I can take a look at quickly like a YouTube video or a page of a webcomic, cool beans, but bar that, if it's not something *I* found, then I don't tend to care. Of course, like I said, there are exceptions, and if somethings catches my eye and you've sent it to me, I will take a look. And I'm not trying to discourage y'all from sending me cool shit, just saying that I won't necessarily look at it.

Why I distrust psychology
So I was in Waterstones (bookshop) earlier this afternoon and browsing the "Smart Thinking" section, which had some really interesting titles in it, and they all looked fascinating, nearly all of them books that inspected our minds, lives, some aspect of the internet or our relationships, the list goes on. And of course, almost all of these books promised a fascinating new perspective on some part of our lives. The thing is, how the fuck am I supposed to know what's accurate when everyone has different opinions on psychology?
