So I've been on the internet for a long time now. I was a bit of a lonely kid when I was younger. Those statements sound completely unrelated, but bear with me on this one.
My name's Leonidas. Sometimes I write things on here. If you enjoy things, feel free to read these things! Click here for an introduction. If you have thoughts, please write a comment and make me happy :).

Optimism
Optimism's a funny thing. Some people swim in the stuff, and succeed in finding a silver lining to every day of their lives. Others keep up the whole "We're all going to die one day" mode for pretty much their entire existence, and for every single proposition they feel the need to butt in and point out the flaws or disagree in some way. You might've noticed in the way I wrote that sentence that I don't best slide with this attitude, and that I find that kind of constant pessimism very unhealthy.
But the question is, where do you place the line between being pessimistic, and realistic?

Progress by regress
For several years now, I had formerly been at the helm of a campaign within RuneScape to try and make the game and the website more inclusive. This included the removal of words such as "gay", "lesbian" and "bisexual" from the website/game censor, which doesn't allow the words to show, and then primarily the allowing of LGBT discussion in the off-topic area of the forum.
Both spawned several threads, many supporters, many debaters, and in the end did not achieve their goals. But both were fascinating to discuss among the people with a vested interest in the topic, both for and against. And one particular point made by the against is something that really resonates throughout the whole area of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender rights.
I'm talking about the direction we have to move in for progress.

Conversation quota
Funny, really, the way etiquette, courtesy, habit and tradition go together to dictate the way you live your life. I think it's particularly important that I use the word "dictate" because it takes a hell of an effort to defy the tradition. Internet conversations are just a small part of that.
Anonymity
Anonymity a pain in the ass, whatever way you look at it. If someone has posted a lovely comment on my blog or my fanfiction or something and didn't include any information, then how can I possibly repay their kindness when I can't even send them a thank you? On the other side of a coin, if someone is being a total asshole, trolling and bitching and flaming et al., then how the fuck am I supposed to tell them to fuck the fuck off? (...I should test that phrase out more.)

Priorities and complaint
So, it's been a bit of a boring day, and I'm uber-tired from a week of work experience (I'll talk more about that next Saturday,) and I'm just thinking "Blergh. I'm bored." And then I think "Have I really got a right to complain?"

Work experience
So work experience started today :). I'm working in a library in a college in Fareham, the nearby town. It was pretty good, but pretty hectic! The first day was so busy, I was waiting an hour doing nothing before I actually started on it. Some of it was pretty boring though, like having to remove books off the system and then rip the barcodes off...yeah, that was exciting. But the people there are lovely, and I'll get used to it in two weeks.
Hopefully.

P.S. Yeah, forgot the Saturday update again.

(Spelling) Prejudice
I admit ... I am a huge pedant. And I find it very difficult to deal with speling mistakes. Infact, I find it vrey hard to read aything littered wih a bunch fo blatant spellig misakes.

Bisexuals are not greedy
So I was with my Dad today, and was just sitting by while he, his fiancée and two women from the Hampshire Autistic Society sat and discussed his plans for another 80 races around Britain (yeah, my Dad wrote a book on the first time he did this,) and one comment caught my attention. He mentioned someone who "swings both ways", and one of the women called this greedy.
Bisexuals are not greedy. It is a sexual fucking preference. We happen to like both genders, not because we want moar sex, but because we don't have a defining preference for either men or women.
Just thought I'd clarify...
